What were you doing before stardom?

I was into modelling when I joined Nollywood. I started my acting career quite early in 2008.

What movie shot you into the limelight?

I would say that the movie that shot me into the limelight was ‘My wicked uncle.’ I came into the limelight almost immediately when I started acting. I got a lead role quite early and my first lead role brought me into the limelight.

What are some of the challenges you faced on your way to stardom?

It’s the same challenge that we all face like attending auditions upon auditions, especially in the early stages. One can go for auditions and not get a role.

Another challenge is financial challenges. As a young actor, one would likely be underpaid. And you’ll be left to fend for yourself. Like if you go for auditions, on some sets, it’s only the known face that gets food, others would starve or look for what to eat.

In what ways did stardom change you?

Stardom didn’t change me, I am still myself. Other than it affecting my privacy, I am an introverted person, so you’d always see fans come to say, ‘hello, hi’ and wanting to take pictures with you. But it’s for a good cause. It is part of what you sign for as a celebrity.
