American rock band
Shinedown is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed by singer Brent Smith in after the dissolution of his previous band, Dreve. Smith, still under contract with record labelAtlantic Records, recruited the band's original lineup of Jasin Todd as guitarist, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums. Consistent for the first two album cycles, several lineup changes followed in the late s, eventually stabilizing with Smith and Kerch alongside Zach Myers on guitar and Eric Bass on bass. The group has released seven studio albums: Leave a Whisper (), Us and Them (), The Sound of Madness (), Amaryllis (), Threat to Survival (), Attention Attention (), and Planet Zero ().
Shinedown has the most number one singles on the BillboardMainstream Rock charts with 19, and all of their released singles have reached the top five on the chart. Additionally, on June 3, , Shinedown was ranked number one by Billboard on the Greatest of All Time Mainstreams Rock Artists chart released to celebrate the Mainstream Rock chart's 40th anniversary.[1] To date, the band has sold more than 10 million records worldwide.[2][3]

Shinedown is a Hard Rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. Shinedown was formed in early by Brent Smith, Jasin Todd, Brad Stewart, and Barry Kerch. They have released seven albums on Atlantic Records: "Leave a Whisper" (),"Us and Them" (), "The Sound of Madness" (), "Amaryllis" (), "Threat to Survival" () , "Attention Attention" () and
"Planet Zero" (). As of , the band has had 23 Top 5 hits on Mainstream Rock radio, including 12 number one singles, and a Top 10 hit on the Hot with "Second Chance".
On July 13, , the band released their debut album Leave A Whisper. The album sold the popular singles "Fly From The Inside" and "45". Leave A Whisper was re-released on June 15, , to capitalize on the strength of a new single: A cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man". This song is often dedicated to their friend Dimebag Darrell who died in The re-release also featured an acoustic version of "45", and a new mix of "Burning Bright", which was to be the fourth single from the album. During , the band notably opened for Van Halen. On September 21, , Leave A Whisper was certified as gold. On August 23, , the band released a live DVD called Live From Th
